Scripture crumbs from John 3:16-18
For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God.
God loves me. And, God loves you. God loves every person who every was and ever will be. His love compelled Him to send Jesus to save us, knowing that would mean His One and Only Son would die.
God’s love is not exclusive. It is all inclusive. It’s like an all-inclusive resort, that has everything we could want or need. His love beckons me to come and stay, to release all the tensions this world has heaped upon me and find peace and satisfaction.
God’s love is the ultimate “equal opportunity” statement. “For God so loved the world.” He truly, deeply, sacrificially and completely loves each person. And likewise, each of us desperately needs the transforming love of God. Everyone, every single person, who believes in Jesus will receive salvation and eternal life.
God didn’t send Jesus here to condemn us. Jesus came to save us.
Jesus does not condemn. Our choice to believe or not believe in Him does.
Do we flourish in His love, believing in Jesus and claiming His gift of life?
Or, do we choose eternal death and darkness, absent of God’s love?
