I’m about to start tracing and cutting out a hundred-plus green, red, yellow and orange construction paper leaves for our family Thankful Tree this November (read more about our Thankful Tree here and here). Each day this month, we will be thanking God for the wonderful ways He has blessed us, and adding leaves to our tree.
But, I don’t want to only focus on God’s blessings this month, I want to thank God for who He is. It’s not the blessings I’m most thankful for, it’s God Himself.
So, right here, throughout November, I will be posting short devotional thoughts and Scripture verses to help cultivate a heart of praise for my Savior. I hope you’ll join me!
Now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
– 1 Corinthians 13:13
Today, I am thankful that faith, hope and love remain.
God is constant, God is sure, and God is true. He is holding me firmly in His hand, and my salvation is secure in Him. God deserves my confidence and hope, because His word cannot be changed or corrupted. His agape, sacrificial, love shown on the cross is why my faith and hope exist.
No matter what you or I go through today, we can know that God’s love for us endures. The God in whom we have placed our faith and is the reason for our hope will never fail us.
Even now, these three remain: faith, hope and love.
One response to “This November: Focusing on God, not just His blessings”
What a wonderful idea to show thankfulness.
