No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape so that you are able to bear it.
– 1 Corinthians 10:13
Today I am thankful that God provides escape from temptation.
God knows me. He knows where I am weak, and will not leave me alone in the midst of temptation. God is there with me, and won’t allow me to be tempted beyond what I can resist. God sees my limits, even if I can’t. And, He has a plan. He will make a way for me to escape out from under the temptation if it becomes too much.
God intends for me to grow in my faith. There will be times when He allows me to face temptation so that I can learn how to overcome in His strength and stand firm. But, God also knows my breaking point, and will always provide a way out—an emergency escape hatch. Escape doesn’t mean give in. God provides an avenue to remove me from the temptation, or to remove the temptation from me.
Like the patient and loving Father He is, God will see me through. He is faithful.
