Family communion

Family communion

Simple. Worship.

Tonight the kids and I sat knee to knee on our living room floor, huddled around a piece of bread and a cup of grape juice. Together we remembered how much Jesus loved us.

We went to different corners of the house to pray and ask Jesus to clean our hearts and thank Him for what He did on the cross for us. It was hard to stop tears from flowing when hearing little voices talk with their Savior, and to keep back the praise of my heart that God has saved them, and me, and we can celebrate that together.

I took the bread and broke it, then each of us took a bite, remembering how the body of Jesus was broken for us. We prayed. I took the cup of juice, took a drink, and passed it on around our small circle, recalling the blood Jesus shed and the forgiveness of sin that He offers. We prayed again. Then we walked around the room singing Jesus Loves Me.

Family communion is one of the most precious experiences. Out of all of our 2 Weeks 2 the Cross activities, this is the one that’s most meaningful.

There is no sacred place or sacred time to remember Jesus’s death on the cross. Jesus simply wants us to remember, often! So, take time to remember this Easter. Whether it’s at church, on your lunch break or sitting on your living room floor, remember Jesus.

Reflect on the Resurrection with your family this Easter!

Easter is in less than two weeks!! I want to encourage you to carve out time with your family to focus on how much Jesus loves you, and how He proved it on the cross. Don’t let Easter be only about the egg hunts and how much candy is in the Easter baskets! The resurrection is worth your reflection!! Click the image below to access a great collection of simple Easter activities you can do with your family, and Scriptures you can study together. I’m praying for you!

Spend time as a family this Easter focusing on why Jesus came: to save us! Resurrection Sunday is the most important day in all of history, and too often we miss the opportunity to impact the heart…
