Scripture Crumb from Numbers 23:19
God is not a man who lies, or a son of man who changes His mind. Does He speak and not act, or promise and not fulfill?
What God promises, is. He is truth. He is life. When He says He will do it, He will act. It is done. He doesn’t change His mind. His love is not dependent on my actions or attitudes. He is not swayed by my sin or shortcoming. His promises, His faithfulness, His forgiveness and His sacrifice is not measured by my strength or ability to hold up the bargain.
What God promises, is.
Father, where am I not trusting You at Your word? You have never lied. Help me to believe and step out on Your promises. You will fulfill each one. I am so grateful that Your faithfulness to me is not determined by my faithfulness to you. Forgive me, cleanse me, and set me straight yet again. Teach me to live in the freedom of Your promises! Let my life be a testimony of Your greatness. Amen.
