For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly. For rarely will someone die for a just person — though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!
– Romans 5:6-8
Today I am incredibly grateful God proved His love for me when I didn’t deserve it.
God loved me when I was unlovable. He chose to love me when I was choosing to live my life apart from Him. Jesus willingly paid for my sins and decided to die to save me before I knew Him and could respond to Him.
Jesus died for me because He loves me.
And, even when I mess up now, when I don’t live up to His standards and stumble in my faith walk, that proof remains. Jesus’s blood still covers me.
His love continues to speak from the cross and the empty grave.
He really loves me.
