The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
– John 1:14
Today, I am thankful that God dwells with me.
The Word, who is Jesus, was in the beginning. He was with God and He was God (John 1:1). And, when the fullness of time came, Jesus became flesh and lived with us. His first stop was the manger, and the last was the cross.
Today, I can still observe His glory. His life speaks just as powerfully in this moment as it did then. He is alive, and He still lives among us! He chooses to work in my heart and speak light to my soul. His grace flows from the cross, teaching me, shaping me and transforming me.
Though it’s been more than 2,000 years since He shed His blood to pay the price for my sins, He continues to extend forgiveness, redemption, freedom and peace. He takes up residence with me, and He chooses to love me now.
Jesus is not some far-off deity, or unknown God. He abides with me, and I with Him (John 15:4). He is not only my Savior, He is my friend. And every moment I am given here on this Earth, I will live it with Jesus by my side.
