Tonight we celebrated the death of Jesus, like the disciples did the night before He was crucified.
During Jesus’s last supper with His friends, He breaks from the Passover tradition to teach them a new way to remember and believe.

Tonight, I spread a table-cloth and set our best dishes out for a special meal to prepare us for Communion. Even Lauren got to drink from a glass cup! After we finished eating, we read Matthew 26:26-30 together and talked about how Jesus allowed His body to be broken and blood to be shed for each of us.
Matt led us in Communion, and we prayed, thanking Jesus for His sacrifice. As we passed around the bread and sparkling grape juice, our family shared this beautiful picture of our Lord’s death on the cross.
Each of us picked out a song, and we sang praises together of Jesus’s love. Afterward, we took a walk, just as Jesus and His disciples did as they went out to the Mount of Olives.
What a precious time together, following Jesus’s command to remember His death until He comes again!
